This is something that every goalkeeper should have done at least once a season. A goalkeeper assessment provides you the opportunity to clearly understand where you are in your development and what needs to be done. There are two types of assessments that are offered by the Golden Gloves Academy. The first type of assessment is game-related (GRA). This involves a video tape recording of you in action during a soccer match. The 2nd type of assessment is technical skills (TSA) which means that you are video taped in a session performing drills to identify specific areas of your skill.
The GRA involves the following:
- A friend or parent video tapes only the action on your half of the field.
- The footage is then put onto a USB and sent to the academy for analysis.
- It is reviewed by using various tools including freeze frames and voice over to identify and describe the actions in each play.
- The video is returned in a DVD format along with a written follow up assessment and suggested exercises or drills.
- The time frame from start to finish is usually a week.
- Cost per game $85.00 +HST
The TSA involves the following:
- GK does a private training session with Tania.
- There are 2 cameras set up each on a different angle.
- GK performs a variety of exercises and drills related to the ability of the individual including fundamental receiving and distribution skills.
- The two angles of the video are put together to form one assessment.
- It is then reviewed by using various tools including freeze frames and voice over.
- The video is returned in a DVD format along with a written follow up assessment and suggested exercises or drills.
- The time frame from start to finish is usually a week.
- Cost per assessment $150.00+HST
